Pipe Welder / Pipefitter — Fabrication Shop

Warriors 2 Workforce is hiring experienced pipe welders and pipefitters for a long-term opportunity with a large mechanical contractor in Columbus, Ohio. This is a second shift fabrication shop position. We are hiring for both trades—you do not need experience in both to be considered.

Pipe welder testing
Welders should be comfortable taking a weld test that includes 2-inch Schedule 80 GMAW/MIG roll-out in the 1G position. Additional pipe weld testing may be required depending on experience.
A long-term opportunity
Full-time, in-person work on second shift with a temp-to-hire opportunity at an established mechanical contractor. Experienced pipe welders, pipefitters, welder/fitters, combination welders and fabricators with strong pipe experience are encouraged to apply.
What you'll do
- Perform pipe welding or pipefitting work in a fabrication shop, according to your trade.
- Read measurements and drawings accurately.
- For pipe welders: weld pipe using GMAW/MIG; experience with GTAW/TIG, FCAW or SMAW is also valuable.
- For pipefitters: read blueprints and isometric drawings; measure and lay out pipe.
- For pipefitters: calculate offsets and cut lengths; cut, fit and tack pipe.
- For pipefitters: orient flanges and place fittings for carbon steel and/or stainless piping.
What we're looking for
- Previous pipe welding OR pipefitting experience; experience in both is not required.
- Fabrication shop, mechanical, industrial or commercial experience preferred.
- Ability to accurately read measurements and drawings.
- Reliable attendance and transportation.
- Comfortable working second shift.
- Ability to pass required pre-employment screening.
